This image is Catharine Elmendorf in the loom house in front of the loom in which she produced rag rugs. This loom is an 18Th century loom, one of two, that were in the house. The second addition to the house is believed to have been built to house the two looms and later this room was converted to the tavern. Generally the man of the house was the weaver producing coverlets. It is not known as of yet, who the weaver was. One loom still exists here and the other one resides in a historical society museum in up state New York.
