In the wooden wing, upon removal of the bead board revealed evidence of a plastered wall from the earlier stone wing. Also the horizontal line on the plaster revealed the placement of the original timber placed up against the wall .The use of the earlier stone wing is not known. What is known is that it had a shed roof and a chimney and one casement window. Originally this space only had an outside entrance.
